Sustainability Hub Paper Presented at ACM COMPASS 2025

The Sustainability Hub team presented a peer-reviewed paper at the ACM COMPASS 2025 conference in Toronto, Canada (July 22-25, 2025): Co-Creating a Regional Sustainability Hub: Conversational AI, Community Engagement, and Local Data for Computing in Place,” with an accompanying poster on the same work.

The paper describes the Sustainability Hub’s mission, Bili’s LLM-powered conversation workflow built on LangChain and LangGraph with retrieval-augmented generation, the BiliCore cross-model evaluation framework, and the community co-design process — which to date has mapped 1,243 organizations across Colorado and gathered listening-session input from urban, rural, and tribal regions, plus stakeholder survey responses from more than 100 partners.

The work is a collaboration across five institutions: MSU Denver (Daniel Pittman, Alyssa Williams), University of Denver (Kerstin Haring), University of Northern Colorado (Jessica Salo), CSU Fort Collins (Greg Newman, Alexis Kennedy, Sarah Newman), and CSU Pueblo (Sylvester Kalevela).
